Biography

Maya Sinha (she/her) is a 2nd year M.A. student in Asian American studies who studies power and privilege in South Asian American communities. She completed her undergraduate degrees in Asian American Studies and Data Science & Statistics from UCSB in 2023. Now, her master’s research ethnographically analyzes seed-stage investing and incubation in Silicon Valley as a way to track privilege-coded practices that are often rendered hidden and illegible in diasporic contexts. In her free time, Maya runs, cooks (and eats), reads, hikes, and enjoys as much company as she can through it all.
