UCLA Center for EthnoCommunications is co-sponsoring a screening for a machinima documentary about the history of Japanese Americans in Sawtelle Japantown, Los Angeles. Check out the trailer: https://vimeo.com/175640458. A flyer is also attached.
The documentary consists of animation, oral history interviews and archival footage. The animation is created using the video game Minecraft, which builds a 3D virtual environment of Sawtelle in the 1930s-70s along with animations of people living there.
