Join the UCLA Asian American Studies Center at 341FSN for the Southern California Book Launch of Mountain Movers: Student Activism and the Emergence of Asian American Studies!
The UCLA Asian American Studies Center will celebrate the Southern California launch of Mountain Movers, a joint book publication with SF State and UC Berkeley on the founding of Asian American Studies (AAS) programs. This 50th Anniversary commemorative volume features the historical roots of Asian American studies at each of the three campuses with oral histories by original founders and students of AAS today. The day will consist of two programs:

The UCLA AASC Press will also host a pop-up shop in the space from 12noon to 7pm. Come by 34FSN during the pop-up to purchase your copy of Mountain Movers for a discounted price of $20! This event is presented as part of the UCLA Asian American Studies Center’s 50th Anniversary programming. It also included in Visual Communication’s Centering the Masses and is presented in tandem with the opening day of “At First Light: The Dawning of Asian Pacific America”, an exhibition by Visual Communications at the Japanese American National Museum.
