We really cherish your support and are excited to see you there. \n  \nCome out to increase your knowledge about Islam and bring a friend! \nCheck out the events for the week below and on the flyer! \n  \nFor more information and to RSVP visit: Islam Awareness Week 2019 \n

SUMMARY:2nd Annual Asian American Mental Health Awareness Week
DESCRIPTION:UCLA’s Asian Greek Council is proud to announce our 2nd Annual Asian American Mental Health Awareness Week! \nMental health is a part of everyone’s life and can create unique challenges for us depending on our environment\, cultures\, and experiences. With such a large scope provided by the topic of mental health\, our hope this week is to narrow it down and address how it manifests itself within the Asian American community. We hope to increase awareness by providing information\, support\, and a comfortable space. \nThough in recent times there has been increased awareness and acceptance\, it is still difficult for many of us to not only share our struggles but also feel sincerely acknowledged. Specifically within the Asian American community\, it is very common to overlook mental health and remain silent. Our goal is to empower each other to “find your voice\,” whether that may be through speaking about your own experiences\, learning how to be there for others\, or simply getting comfortable with the topic. \nRemember\, you are not alone. Together we can #breakthestigma. \n===================================================\nEVENTS: \nTabling on Bruinwalk:\nMonday 4/15 – Thursday 4/18\nTo start off our week\, members of AGC will be on Bruinwalk handing out stickers and flyers! We may have some fun activities/surprises so make sure you stop by! \nECHO’s Mental Health Matters Awareness Night:\nTuesday 4/16 | Ackerman Grand Ballroom | 6:00pm – 9:00pm\nOur friends at Enriching Community Health Outreach (ECHO) at UCLA are hosting their first awareness night: Mental Health Matters! Please join them for a night of free food\, prizes\, and performances all while helping support our mission to raise awareness on mental health to the UCLA community and to support the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)!\nCheck out the event page to see what this exciting night holds: https://www.facebook.com/events/252732365610081/ \n“Find Your Voice”: Asian American Mental Health Panel and Discussion:\nThursday 4/18 | Haines A02 | 8:00pm – 9:30pm\nIn our main event for the week\, we will present a panel and facilitate guided discussion about how mental health looks in our communities. The panelists will share a mix of research findings\, clinical experiences\, and personal stories; the panelists will be released throughout the week\, so stay tuned! We will also share the data from the Google form (anonymously\, of course). \nPsypher: Mental Health & Dance Workshop\nFriday 4/19 | Parking Lot 4\, P1 | 8pm\nAGC is excited to announce a partnership with Psypher\, a club at UCLA that aims to address and discuss mental health issues in the space of a dance workshop. The topic for the workshop will be “Asian American Mental Health” and we will focus on unpacking some of the information from the day before. \n===================================================\nWe wholeheartedly encourage any questions and suggestions! Please feel free to contact any of the following: \nBrandon Ye | AGC President | (925) 683-5288\nLilly Wang | AGC Publicity Chair | (856) 889-4957
