DESCRIPTION:Please join us this Tuesday for the last Marschak talk of spring quarter.  RSVP \n  \nHidden Identities\, Hidden Lives: When Data Obscures Health Disparities \nNinez A. Ponce \nProfessor\, Health Policy and Management \nUCLA \nTuesday\, April 30 at 3 p.m. \nCharles E. Young Research Library Main Conference Room \n  \n  \nIn this talk\, Ponce will focus on health survey data in California and in national surveys for American Indian Alaska Native and Asian subgroup information. A health economist\, Ponce’s research contributes to the elimination of racial/ethnic and social disparities in health and health care in three areas: multicultural survey research\, social penalties in health access\, and global and immigrant health. \n  \nPonce is a professor in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health’s Department of Health\, and Director of the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research. She is the Principal Investigator for the California Health Interview Survey\, the largest health survey in the nation. Ponce received a BA in science from UC Berkeley\, an MA in public policy from Harvard University\, and a PhD in health services at UCLA. \n  \nLight refreshments will be served. DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nECC invites all student organizations and departments to attend our 2nd Annual Climate Justice Forum. Our event will feature a keynote speaker\, plant-based dinner\, live performances\, cross-community dialogue\, and the premiere of our documentary Reframing Environmentalism: People of Color and Sustainability. Anyone from any background is welcome and encouraged to attend! \nWe will be featuring Mesoamerican food made with plant-based indigenous ingredients from Alchemy Organica! \nWe aim to be low-waste as possible so please bring reusable utensils and tupperware if you can! If not\, we will have dining utensils available at the event. \nParking is available at the Sunset Village Parking Lot. There are elevators on the 1st floor on Carnesale Commons.
