Faculty Mentorship | Social Change Research| Financial Scholarship
The UCLA Center for Community Learning
is now accepting applications for the Astin Community Scholars Program AY 2019-20!
This year, in partnership with the UCLA Labor Center, Labor Studies Program, and the Institute for Research on Labor & Employment, students chosen as Astin Scholars will:
Collaborate with graduate students and community stakeholders and advocates on applied research projects focused on addressing educational access and equity challenges.
Receive faculty mentorship and participate in a 4-unit upper division course to develop and produce their studies.
Program Highlights:
Receive up to $6,000 in scholarship funding
Learn skills of conducting community-engaged research
Gain faculty mentorship
Be a part of a research team with community activists and dedicated graduate students
Address educational access and equity challenges
Requirements:
Open to all majors/minors
Students must enroll in a 4-unit upper division course during Fall, Winter & Spring
