  Common Application Questions

Q: How many students apply and how many get in to the program?
A: We typically receive 45 to 55 applications for 30 spots each quarter. Our associate director chooses 40 to 45 students to interview. Of those interviewed, he chooses 30 to admit, and puts from five to eight students on the waiting list. Since a few students usually drop out of the program, several wait-listed applicants often do end up getting admitted.

Q: How can my recommender submit a letter to CAPPP?
A: Our online application enables you to automatically request that your recommender upload their letter to our system. Recommenders can also email letters to cwald@cappp.ucla.edu . We’ll also accept hard-copy letters, as long as they either 1) come straight from the recommender to CAPPP; 2) if hand-carried by the student, are in a sealed envelope, signed across the seal by the recommender.

Q: How can I check to see if my letter of recommendation has been received?
A: Once you submit your application on line, you’ll be able to see the status of your letter on your system. If you are submitting your application in hard-copy form, you can ask at the CAPPP office.
