Become an AmeriCorps VISTA member with APCF! – Deadline: Rolling Bases

Make a tangible difference for LA’s API communities and individuals dealing with some of our nation’s biggest challenges: poverty, inequity, homelessness, and lack of access to education. VISTA members help to build the capacity of organizations by serving full-time for one full year at a community organization (nonprofit, college/university, local government office, etc.).
AmeriCorps VISTA is more than a service opportunity – you will build valuable leadership and project management skills through professional development trainings that are available throughout the year. Gain professional experience and building skills as you learn, experiment, and adapt to a new environment while delivering outcomes that positively impact local communities!

Benefits include:

– Living allowance (paid bi-monthly) with an additional housing allowance (paid to landlord if you can show leasing agreement in/with your name).
– Deferment of student loans with no interest for the duration of the program.
– Segal AmeriCorps education award after a full year of service (award may be used up to seven years later upon completion). Award can be put towards future higher education expenses or be used to pay off student loans. AmeriCorps VISTA members are also able to select an end-of-service stipend as an alternative to the education award.
– Qualify for Non-Competitive Eligibility (NCE), a special hiring path for federal jobs.
– Professional development opportunities will be provided in partnership with the Asian Pacific Community Fund.
