The UCLA campus may nominate up to two individuals for the James C. Gaither Junior Fellows program (formerly the Carnegie Junior Fellows Program). The UCLA campus application is November 2, 2018. The campus selection committee has a deadline to submit nominees to Carnegie by January 15, 2019. There are 400 participating colleges and institutions and each one may nominate two individuals from which the 12 – 14 fellowship recipients will be selected.
Each year, Carnegie offers fellowships to uniquely qualified graduating seniors and individuals who have graduated during the past academic year. Carnegie Junior Fellows work as research assistants to the Endowment’s senior associates. Those who have begun graduate studies are not eligible for consideration.
Printed application materials due Friday, November 2, 2018. The deadline takes into consideration the campus closure and winter break. Please deliver applications in person or send by U.S. mail to Kathy Escobedo. In person submissions may be left at either 4269A Bunche Hall or with a front desk staff member at 4289 Bunche Hall, the Political Science Department main office. The Junior Fellows Program only accepts applications sent by the UCLA campus nominating official.
