German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Study/Research Grants- Deadline: Monday, October 15, 2018 @ 4:00 pm

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Study/Research Grants provide qualified students and recent graduates the opportunity to complete a program of additional studies, conduct independent study, or complete a master’s or doctoral degree in Germany.

 

Please forward this announcement to your graduate students, graduating undergraduate seniors, and postdoctoral scholars. The campus deadline for the DAAD Study/Research Grants in the Non-Arts Fields is 4:00 pm, Monday, October 15, 2018. All application components must be submitted (1) online via the DAAD portal and (2) as a single PDF of all documents (EXCEPT the letter of recommendation) in the order listed on the attached to uclafellowship@grad.ucla.edu.  Note:  If the online checklist differs from the attached, applicants should use the online information.

 

The letter of recommendation—along with the reference form(available from the applicant) due by 4pm, October 15, 2018, as well as signed and on department/institution letterhead—can be emailed as a PDF to uclafellowship@grad.ucla.edu or mailed to/dropped off at:

STUDY SCHOLARSHIPSare available to highly qualified final-year undergraduate students or those who have received an undergraduate degree of all disciplines for a full master’s degree program at a German university, or for study at a German university as part of a postgraduate or master’s degree program completed in the home country.

 

LONG-TERM RESEARCH GRANTSare available to highly qualified candidates who have completed a master’s degree or in exceptional cases a bachelor’s degree at the latest by the time they begin their grant-supported research, or those who have already completed a PhD (postdocs), or to individuals wishing to earn a doctoral degree in Germany.

 

Please ask applicants to utilize the relevant checklist attached to submit the supplementary materials listed.  Note:  If the online checklist differs from the attached, applicants should use the online information. They will also need to submit their application online by the campus deadline in order for our office to have an electronic copy to review.
