News: FEM Newsmagazine Applications - Deadline: October 6, 2017

October 2, 2017 - 10:15am

FEM Newsmagazine is UCLA’s one and only intersectional feminist publication. Our goal is to advocate for a socially just community through honest journalism. Our content promotes feminist takes on everything from campus events to national politics.

We are currently looking for new contributors, designers, and copy editors. Contributors are expected to write three articles per quarter, while copy editors correct the grammar and style of several articles per week. Both new contributors and copy editors will be assigned to one of five sections—Arts and Creative, Gendertainment, Politics, Dialogue and Opinion, or Campus Life—which each have short weekly meetings. FEM's Art and Design staff create illustrations for articles throughout the quarter, under the Art Directors, as well as collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief to produce our print magazines every quarter.

Joining FEM will not only foster your skills as a writer, designer, or editor, but connect you to a group of feminists dedicated to social activism. Applications can be accessed here and are due on October 6th at 11:59 pm. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our Editor-in-Chief Tulika Varma at or connect with us via social media.
